Thermicide
Detects hotspots
and facilitates pest control
Portable device that combines CO₂, air and heat to detect infestations and eliminate
insects by direct contact, without biocides or chemicals.
Designed for rapid inspections and treatments in pest control.
How does it work?
When the caterpillars descend in single file down the trunk, the collar diverts them into a chute that ends in the collection bag. There they are confined with soil and leaves, minimising the risk of dispersal of stinging hairs.
Kit contents
The Mastertrap Pine set includes a collar or deflector that surrounds the trunk to divert the procession of caterpillars, a collection bag where the descent is confined, and fastening straps to secure all the elements.
Tree compatibility
Suitable for pine trees with a circumference ≤ 1.80 m; for larger trunks, two collars (male-female) must be joined and tightly fastened, and the collection bag must be attached to the second trap to maintain continuous diversion.
Safety and best practices
Wear PPE (long clothing, gloves and goggles) and place the trap in an inaccessible area (>3 m). Do not open the bag unless necessary and keep the system in place for at least 3 weeks after the last processions.
Maintenance and reuse
Master Trap Pine can be reused after emptying and rinsing with water. Recycle the empty bag and replace it if it is damaged or in cases of high infestation.
Removal
Do not dispose of it on public roads; take the collar and bag to a recycling centre. To empty the bag, bury its contents in a hole 25–30 cm deep (min. 20 cm) and compact it well, avoiding dispersion into the air.
